Born April 7, 1873, in Bath County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Agnes Rowe Putnam.
He lived on Buffalo Run in Ritchie County for several years and was a retired farmer.
Surviving him are three sisters, Mrs. Lou Ballengee, Freeport, Wirt County, Mrs. W.L. Tanzey, Clarksburg, and Mrs. Grace Davis, Petroleum; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Putnam was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Services were conducted Tuesday morning at the Franklin Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Evangelist Paul W. Hall officiating. Burial was in Hardman Chapel Cemetery, Ritchie County.
