Mr. Gene Arthur "Biggin" Williams, 71, of Waycross died Sunday evening at Satilla Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Coffee County to the late Charlie E. Williams and Electria Minix Williams.
Mr. Williams had made Waycross his home for most of his life. He worked for Wilbert Vault Company, Sam Scott Mobile Homes and Taylor Repo. He was a member of Full Gospel Church of God Apostolic, LTD. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family. Mr. Williams will always be remembered as wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Fredrick Eugene Williams, and three sisters, Idell Daniels, Inez Sherrod, and Verde Mae Dacquehagen.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Georgia Ann Williams of Waycross, two daughters, Kimberly Taylor and her husband Leon of Alma, Rhodenia Williams of Waycross, two sons, Arthur Wade Williams and his wife Gail of Blackshear, Marvin Lynn Williams of Winter Haven, Florida, nine grandchildren, Terry Bennett, Jamie Williams, Amanda Gordon, April Pudina, Carl Taylor, Jr., Tonya Surrency, Michael Williams, April Bennett, Misty Williams Holt, ten great grandchildren, Lilth Williams, Hailey Taylor, Nicole Gordon, Heidi Breeden, Bailey Grace Bennett, Carly Griffin, Darren Holt, Bradley Holt, Keegan Holt, Jasmine Holt, three step grandchildren, J.R. Westberry, Kristen Pittman, Melanie Westberry and her husband Zack, five step great grandchildren, two brothers, Melvin Williams of Winter Haven, Florida, Carl Williams of Waycross, three sisters, Charlene Tanner of Pearson, Betty Williams of Ambrose, Margie Taylor of Douglas, special friends, Ronnie Smith of Waycross, Barbara Dorsey of Waycross and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday at the Full Gospel Church of God Apostolic, LTD. Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
