Mary Lou Tyree of 8201 Halford Place, Brentwood, TN 37027 died Wednesday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville after an extended illness. Mrs. Tyree, a native of Weakley County, Tennessee, was born on May 30, 1926, a daughter of the late John Bryant and Ruby Grace Webb Peery. She was a member of the Concord Road Church of Christ and retired from the Tennessee Department of Social Security Administration.
Mrs. Tyree is survived by her husband of 53 years, William "Bill" Dennis Tyree, whom she married in a private ceremony on June 12, 1948 at the Church Street Church of Christ in Lewisburg, Tennessee. The ceremony was officiated by the groom's brother-in-law, Clyde Miller, M.G.
Other survivors include four children: Frank (Pat) Tyree, Brentwood; Peggy (Jim) Flowers, Cary, NC; Ben (Susan) Tyree, Brentwood; and Bob (Missy) Tyree, Brentwood; eleven grandchildren: Keith Flowers, Karen (Jeff) Essic, Sharon (Daniel) Glenn, Carrie Beth Flowers, Michelle Tyree, Will Tyree, Tracy Tyree, Russell Tyree, Allison Tyree, Kelly Tyree, and Michael Tyree; one brother, Paul Peery, Nashville.
Visitation is October 5, 2001 from 6 to 8 pm at Brentwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home chapel on October 6, 2001 at 11:00 am, conducted by Keith Crow, Dr. Clyde M. Miller, and David Tyree.
Active pallbearers are the four grandsons and two grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers are the elders at Concord Road Church of Christ (Brentwood), Dr. Theodore Pincus, and Dr. William Ewers.
Burial will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37211.
