Thelma Evelyn Barrett was the daughter of Walter Winn and Pollie Ann Shriber Barrett. Her father constructed and operated cotton gins so they lived in a number of places while she was growing up. While living in London, Texas, she met and married Ray Gentry there on March 26, 1925. They were the parents of two children; Willard Wauldimor (Bill), and Jenella Rae (Jan) Gentry.

ELDORADO - Thelma Gentry, 88, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Schleicher County Medical Center. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Methodist Church with burial in Eldorado Cemetery, directed by Kerbow Funeral Home.

She was born March 7, 1900, in Lometa, and had lived in Eldorado since 1971. Survivors include one son, Bill Gentry of Eldorado; one daughter, Mrs W. G. Crippin of Eldorado; and four grandchildren.
