Mrs. Vivian E. Tinkham, 42, of Prairie City died Sunday September 13, 1970 at 3:25 P.M. at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She had been ill for some time.
The former Vivian Ethel Condreay was born July 13, 1928, at Roodhouse, Illinois. She married Bennie Tinkham at Galesburg on April 16, 1947. He survives with her parents, Floyd Condreay of Oquawka and Mrs. Cline (Ethel) Danner of Abingdon; five daughters, Mrs. Charles (Elaine) Garrett of Prairie City, Mrs. LeRoy (Mary) Cook of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Jeannette, Shirley and Caroll at home; a son Jerry Lee Tinkham, serving in the U. S. Navy at Virginia Beach, Virginia.; two sisters Mrs. Raymond (Martha Hills of Galesburg, Mrs Jesse (Juanita) DeJaynes of Abingdon, and five brothers James and Fred of Monticello, Kentucky, Harold and Walter both of Abingdon and Robert of Galesburg.
She attended Galesburg schools and was a member of Abingdon Christian Church. She had resided in Prairie City for the past three years, and before that was a resident of Herman. She was formerly employed by Knox Laundry in Galesburg.
Funeral services will be at the Larson Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 P.M., with Rev. Donald Hogan, pastor of the Abingdon Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Cherry Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
