From a Defiance area newspaper. Heading " FOUND DEAD IN BED" This morning, Peter Jacob arose at about 6 o'clock and proceeded at his usual work leaving his wife, as he thought, sleeping soundly, some fifteen minutes later a daughter went into the bedroom and spoke to her mother without receiving a response. going to the bed she found the mother's hands cold but the body still warm. A Physician was summoned but it was found life was extinct, she having died sometime during the night. Mrs. Jacob has been suffering from heart trouble and neuralgia for some weeks but was feeling better. however, this is attributed to the cause of her death. Mrs. Jacob was born in Belgium on April 5, 1840, and came to America when 13 years of age. She was married in 1859 and resided until in Seneca county, but for the past 33 years has been a resident of this county, moving to this city about 5 years ago. She was the mother of 10 children, 10 of whom survive her as follows: Mrs. Ferd Trentman, Cameron, Montana; Mrs. Sylvester Jacob, of Fostoria; Mrs. C. B. Hoeffel, Mrs. L. Arendt, Martin, and William, who live in the country, and Misses Ellen and Gertrude, of this city. She was reared in the Catholic faith and is a member of St. John's church in this city. while definite arrangements for the funeral have not been completed it is thought the funeral will be from the home, 822 Perry Street, to the church where services will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning.

Another obituary from another unknown source ( probably a Defiance newspaper) "MRS. JACOBS IS DEAD"

Mrs. Peter Jacobs, of Perry Street, died early this morning from a complication of diseases. The deceased has been sick all during the summer. but for the last three weeks has been confined to her bed, seriously ill, until death ended her suffering this morning. Last April 2nd, the deceased was aged 65 years. she leaves a husband and eight children living, two of whom live out of the city. Mrs. F. Trentman, of Cameron, Montana, and Mrs. Slyvester Jacob of Fostoria, O. Four daughters, and two sons reside in and near Defiance. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Louise Fair, of Michigan and Mrs. Irene Schortgen, living west of the city. the Jacobs family has resided in this city for the past five years moving from the farm west of town. on account of Father Gloden being out of the city, the funeral arrangements have not yet been made, but will probably occur Saturday morning, at St John's Catholic church. Mrs. Jacobs was a kind and devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed in the home she has cared for so long.
