Lawrence W. Junker, 81, of 13142 Morene St. died Aug 20 at Paradise Hills Convalescent Home in National City.

He was born on Jusy 20,1899 in San Diego. He was in the U.S. Navy and Army and worked most of his life as an officer with the San Diego Police Department.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Old East End Gang in San Diego, the San Diego Municipal Employees Association and the Retired San Diego Policemen and Firemen's Association.

He is survived by a son, Raymond P. Junker of Poway; a daughter, Shirley Junker Green of Columbus Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
