Winters, TX -- Carrie Ruth "Kat" Crockett Hope, 86, of Winters, our beloved mother and meemaw, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010. She was born the daughter of the late John D. "Joe" and Minnie F. Crockett on May 3, 1924 in Winters. She married Eugene "Pee Wee" Hope on August 16, 1947 in Winters. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Kenneth Hope and a sister Dorothy Moore. She is survived by 3 daughters and their husbands: Gloria and Ronnie Poehls of Wingate, Donna and David Pliler of San Angelo and Kathy and Luther Smith of Sterling City; 10 grandchildren: Melisa Boerger and husband Jeremy of Katy, Wayne Poehls and wife Beverly of Georgetown, Wade Pliler of San Angelo, Shana Pelzel and husband Ryan of Katy, Cory Smith and wife Leslie of Kaufmann, Carrie Scott of San Angelo, Kyla Kinsey and Laci Duggan and husband Ryan of Sterling City, Kendra Bryant and husband Petey of Midland and Jeremy Hope and wife Keegan of Mertzon; as well as 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family will be receiving friends at the Winters Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the North Main Church of Christ on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Cory Smith and Don Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of the Winters Funeral Home.
The family asks that memorials be made to North Main Church of Christ in Winters or the San Angelo Christian Academy, 528 Country Club Rd, San Angelo, 76904.
