May Jones Dies Monday
A former Martin County resident, May Jones, age 85, died at 11:47 a.m. Monday, November 27, 1978, at the Eastgate Manor Nursing Home in Washington.
Mrs. Jones was born on May 20, 1893, in Martin County to Mack and Nellie (Elkins) Baker. She married Roy Davis, who preceded her in death and Lawrence Jones, who is also deceased.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Vernon Davis, of Washington; seven step children; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs Chloe Taylor of Bedford.
A daughter, Berniece Holtz, two sister, Anna Baker, and Rada Baker; three brothers, Wid, Ordie, and Evert Baker preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Titzer Funeral Home in Loogootee, with Bro. Ira Price officiating. Burial will be made in the new Trinity Springs Cemetery.
