This from Daniel Volkmuth via Facebook Messenger, 3 May 2022 :

The findagrave birthday for John Gebhard is NOT what is in the German civil or church records.
I have seen this many times, those records say born 11 Apr 1823;
the Schifferstadt town historian confirms that date too.
Indeed, there is NO Gebhard born 16 Jun 1822 in Schifferstadt

I personally have scanned all the paper civil and church records from 1818-1830 to double check.

There are no Gebhards born in 1822;
the closest are Gertrude b 30 Sep 1823 who stayed and married in Schifferstadt
and her brother Georg (17 Sep 1821-28 Sep 1821).
They are children of Franz Jacob Gebhard 1797- and Maria Eva Eisen (1796-1847)
Franz Jacob immigrated to Rochester and died there 17 Sep 1863 (No findagrave memorial- KG)

Its possible the records are wrong

Daniel Volkmuth

BTW...I purchased the Town historian's books and have reviewed the paper records (which are available on-line).

====================

Per this corrected information I have changed the birth date to what Daniel has sent and will not use what is stated on the death certificate
