GILLESPIE AREA NEWS 20 JANUARY 1965

GILLESPIE - Mrs. Bessie Huddleston, 69, 504 Henry Street, died in St. Francis Hospital at 12:00 oclock Saturday night, January 16, following an illness of six years.

The former Bessie Sawyer, daughter of Elliott and Meddie Sawyer, she was born in Gillespie July 1, 1895. Her husband Frank Huddleston, whom she married in Carlinville, July 15, 1933, survives.

She is also survived by one son, James Huddlesdon, of Gillespie, and two sisters, Mrs. Myette Walker and Miss Virgil Sawyer, both of Gillespie.

The family received friends at the Hebenstreit Funeral Home.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning, at 9:30 o'clock from SS Simon & Jude church, with the Rev. George E. Hobbs officiating. Burial was made in the Holy Cross cemetery.
