Sgt. U.S. Army, WW2-Sgt. Cook was killed in action on 9-29-1944 while serving as an Ambulance driver for the 30th Infantry Division near Vernix, France.

His parents were Mr. Albert B. & Mrs. Gertrude {LiGrissee} Cook of 228 George Street in Peoria, Illinois, and the husband of Mrs. Dorothy Bowles Cook, and the father of one son, Edgar Allen of Harrison Homes in Peoria. They were married in Peoria on May 22,1941. He leaves four brothers, Albert, Guy, Ray, Louis, and five sisters, Gwen, Lucy, Jean, Margaret, and Miss Gladys at home.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, European Campaign Medal with Two Battle Stars, Army Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal.

Footnote: His body was returned to Peoria for burial on April 23, 1948.
