Anna Horgen-Anderson

Mrs. Anna Horgen-Anderson was born in Huldalen, Norway, December 1, 1861. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in her native land.

In 1878 she was married to Nils Anderson. The same year she and her husband emigrated to America. They first came to Clermont, Iowa, where they remained for seven years, after a year spent in Floyd County they came to Mitchell County, where they made their home the rest of their lives. During their last years they resided in Osage.

Mr. Anderson passed away May 20, 1928. Mrs. Anderson had suffered a stroke of paralysis previous to her husband's death but rallied. Last June, however, she was stricken again and the past year has been virtually helpless. She was mercifully released by death, Wednesday, April 29, 1931. She had entered her 70th birthday year last December.

The deceased is survived by the following children: Albert, of Lowry, Minnesota; Martha Turnmire, of Grand Meadow, Minnesota; Henry, Oscar, and Gilbert, of Osage; Alma Virchow, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Olga Godfrey and Lester, of Osage, Iowa; and Nora Nelson, of Clermont, Iowa. Two daughters and one son preceded the parents in death. Twenty-two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Champion Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., and at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at 1:30. Interment was made in the Osage Cemetery.
