Karen Ruth (Hazen) Awbrey was born on Friday; August 10, 1951 in Muscatine; Muscatine County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Robert and Alice (Ramer) Hazen. On February 14, 1970, Karen was united in marriage to David G. Awbrey at Saint Mathias Catholic Church in Muscatine, Iowa. Karen worked as a school bus driver. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing and reading. Karen especially enjoyed being busy with her grandchildren and their activities. Karen Ruth (Hazen) Awbrey, age 58, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010 in Escanaba; Delta County, Michigan from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her sons: Anthony (Betsy) Awbrey of Lisbon, Iowa and Robert (Anne) Awbrey of Traer, Iowa. Her six grandchildren: Seery, Jenna, Johnny, Bob, John-John and Hattie. Her parents: Bob (Alice) Hazen of Muscatine, Iowa. Her grandmother: Leona Hazen of Muscatine, Iowa and her sisters: Connie (Wayne) Jacobsen of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Bonnie (Pearl) Kleponis of Miami, Florida and Deb (Bob) Koenig of Muscatine. Karen was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation for Karen will be on Monday; June 28, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the George M.
