Mary Lena Bozard Weathers, 90, of 7134 Vance Road, Bowman, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Bowman Southern Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Bowman Cemetery.

Mrs. Weathers was born Feb. 15, 1916, in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Daniel David and Maggie Viola Dukes Bozard. She was a retired co-owner of Weathers Grocery founded in 1946. Mrs. Weathers was a member of Bowman Southern Methodist Church, the Adult Sunday School class and the Hester Summers Missionary Society. She was the widow of James Marvin "Jim" Weathers Sr.

Survivors include a son, James M. "Jimmy" Weathers Jr. and wife, Rosalyn, of Bowman; a daughter, Joyce Weathers Rast and husband, Larry, of High Point, N.C.; four grandchildren, Shannon R. Thomas and husband, Richard, of Savannah, Ga., Michael McLauren Rast, of Burlington, N.C., James Brandon Weathers, of Atlanta and Brett Tarrant Weathers, of Clemson; and one great-granddaughter, Nora Delaney Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home and at other times friends may call at the residence, 7134 Vance Road.

Memorials may be made to Bowman Southern Methodist Church, c/o Rose Maree Bunton, 461 Hunting Road, Branchville, SC 29432.
