I have some of the fondest memories of Herm and Zonie as I was growing up. My family traveled from Burke County to Avery county almost every weekend to visit kin folks. I always hated that trip up the mountain on old 181 because of the curves and switch backs in the road. I almost always got car sick and had to stop at Clarks old store for a pickle to settle my stomach. When we arrived at aunt Zonie's...everything was great...She had a big hug and most of the time had a plate of left overs sitting on the table covered up with a table cloth. I don't know if I every told these two wonderful people that I loved them....But if you guys can hear me now......I LOVE YOU............James L Simmons
