Rosa Avalos of Seguin, Texas went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the age of 74. Rosa is survived by her brothers and their wives Trinidad and Rebecca Avalos, Gilbert and Dolores Avalos, and Fernando and Susan Avalos; 24 nieces and nephews, and 46 great nieces and nephews. Rosa did not have any children of her own but loved and cared for many nieces and nephews as her own and was loved by them in return just as much.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Casimiro and Dolores Avalos; her sisters Helen Rios, Maria Socorro Avalos, and San Juana Landin; and her brothers Roman Avalos and Henry Avalos.
Palmer Mortuary will hold a Visitation Monday, June 21, 2010, 4:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be will held Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 10:00am. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin.
The Avalos family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff at Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center as well as GVNC Hospice for the kindness and care they extended to Rosa and her family during the time spent with them. God bless them in their vocations and continued service.
