Winnie Boersema was born in Sultan, WA on January 4, 1911, the third child of Dick and Dora Boersema. She lived in Sultan for more than 50 years, spending the last 40 years in Delta Rehabilitation Center, Snohomish. She went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2004.
She was preceded in death by sisters Cornelia Boersema and Elsie (VanWeerthuizen), and brothers Cornelius and Herman.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews with whom she enjoyed a loving relationship. All will miss her very active sense of humor.
Despite significant handicaps, Winnie enjoyed the company of family and friends. She displayed an excellent memory for names, birthdays and anniversaries.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff at Delta Rehabilitation Center for their patient, loving care during Winnie's 40 years of residence there.
Funeral services are being arranged by Purdy & Kerr of Monroe. Private interment will be in Sultan Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the New Hope Fellowship (CRC) in Monroe on Saturday August 14th at 11:00am.
