Margaret (Newman) Chandler was born in 1932 in Pennsylvania. She married in 1850 , as his second wife, William A. Chandler, Sr. That year the Chandlers lived in Macon township, Lenawee County, Michigan on a farm. Margaret gave birth to a son, William, in 1851. In 1860, they lived on a farm in Ridgeway township, Lenawee County, Michigan. They moved north to Grand Traverse County in 1864. They lived in Traverse township in 1870 and in East Bay township in 1880. She continued living on the family farm until her death in 1912:
