John August Stenberg was the first of seven children born to Andrew Stenberg and Anna Greta Gundberg Stenberg. He worked on County and State Roads and for various saw mills. The Stenberg siblings were all musically inclined. August played guitar and his brother, Claus, played fiddle at local dances around Cromwell. August died in the Moose Lake State Hospital. He was my great-uncle. This birth date information is from his death certificate but the date is not the same as family records which list his birthdate as May 31, 1876. He never married.
