Ora Mae (Woodie) Daughterty, 91, of Christiansburg, died, Friday, May 2, 2008, at her home. She was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on August 2, 1916 to the late Giles V. and Etta Shaver Henderson

She was also preceded in death by her husband, David H. Daugherty Jr.; her sister, Minnie H. Ellett; and three brothers, Paul Henderson, Julian (Dude) Henderson, and Rudolph (Teet) Henderson.

She is survived by her sister, Virginia (Sis) Gibson, of Christiansburg; three nephews, Bob Henderson, of Blacksburg, Paul Henderson and wife, Brenda, of Blacksburg, and Guy Ellett and wife, Juanita, of Radford; great-nephews and great-nieces, John Henderson, Greg Henderson and wife, Tammy, Mark Henderson and wife, Laura, Kevin Ellett, Colleen Farmer and husband, Kyle, and Paula Bryant and husband, Joey; numerous great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and special caregivers, Amy Snyder Smith, Sandra Snyder, Peggy Snyder, and Phyllis Alderman. Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice and their nurse, Christine Seto.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2008, in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg, with Dr. Charles Taylor officiating. Friends may call anytime after noon Sunday, and the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
