MRS. ELMER GERMER
Mrs. Elmer H. (Melvina) Germer, 83, Fort Dodge, died March 9 after a short illness at a Fort Dodge nursing home where she had resided for one week.
Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Bruce's Memorial chapel, Fort Dodge with Dr. Lloyd Latta officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery, Fort Dodge.
The former Melvina Enfield, she was born Dec. 17, 1888, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Enfield. She married Elmer Germer at Pilot Mound, Iowa, in 1923.
Mrs. Germer had lived at Fort Dodge until moving to the Happy Siesta retirement home at Remsen about five years ago. Then about two years ago Mrs. Germer returned to Fort Dodge to make her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1963 and a daughter, Mrs Iyone Orem in 1971.
She was a member of the Methodist church
Survivors are a son Kenneth E. Muench of Ogdon, Utah; a daughter, Mrs. Vern (Dorothy) Lovely of Lemars; three brothers, Albert of Hammond, La., Arthur of Mount Auburn and Clifford of Fort Dodge; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
