Funeral services of T. E. Watts were held from his late residence yesterday afternoon at 6 0'clock. Rev. A. J. Johnson, pastor of the East Macon Baptist Church, officiated. The interment was in the family lot at Riverside Cemetery. Mr. watts died at his home 509 Center stret. (sic), Thursday morning at 12:15 o'clock. He was ill only one week and the news of his death was a surprise to his many friends and relatives. He was, 56 years of age and native of Mississippi, and has been a resident of Macon twelve years. Mr. Watts was a. member of the East Side Baptist Church. He leaves a wife, four daughters and, two Sons and two brothers to mourn hi death. He had been employed by Central of Georgia Railroad for a number of years.

Look closely at this headstone, I believe for his birth year it reads: 1863. As on the 1880 census, in his youth, Thomas, age 17, is found living with his widowed mother Nancy PIPPINS Watts.
