Arminda Dryden Vernon was not the daughter of Thomas Dryden and Eliza Daniels. First, Arminda married William Daniels in 1879 in Iowa (verified); however, in Thomas' 1880 census there is an Arminta Dryden residing in Thomas' household in Jasper County. Second, in Thomas' obituary, there is no mention of Arminta Dryden Preston who was still alive when Thomas died in 1904. https://www.newspapers.com/image/145587850/?terms=Dryden&match=1
