Funeral services for Elisha A. Washburn, 76, the father of R.I. Washburn of Brownsboro and Mrs. J.D. Burkholder of Eustace were held Thursday afternoon in Corsicana. The rites were conducted by Rev. Maggard B. Howell, pastor of the Methodist Protestant Church. Mr. Washburn was a native of Alabama but had resided in Texas for the past twenty-six years.
Surviving are his wife of Corsicana; six sons, R.I. Washburn, Brownsboro; C.A. Washburn, Corsicana: F.H. Washburn, Corsicana; Dewey Washburn, Richland; Miles Washburn, Corsicana and Julina Washburn, Corsicana; four daughters, Mrs. H.B. Bentley, Corsicana; Mrs. J.D. Burkholder, Eustace; Mrs. J. V. Heflin, Corsicana and Mrs. Ed Laughlin, Elroy, Arizona; twenty- nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jim Taylor, Andrew G. Steele, Erwin Sandlin, Harry Traw, Everett Gentsch, Ruby Owens and Ben Joe Acock.
