George R. Wertz
George R. Wertz, 51, of 304 Continental street, a mechanic at Rose Motors, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1970, in St. Charles hospital, Toledo. He had been there since August 26.
He was born in Sandusky county on Sept. 7, 1918, the son of George H. and Sarah Jane (Tew) Wertz, both of whom are now deceased. He had lived in Tiffin for 30 years, preciously in Attica. He married Doris L. Montz on August 3, 1946, in St. Paul's United Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters, Russell Lee and Eugene F., both in service, Clare Eldon and Sara Jane, both at home; stepchildren, Richard Ditslear of Clyde, John E. Ditslear of Fresno, Calif., Ronald Ditslear of Dayton, Michael Dislear (sic) of Tiffin, Barbara Margraf of Dayton, Mrs. Richard (Judy) Pratt of Tiffin and Mrs. Edward (Valerie) Beitel of Euclid.
Other survivors include brothers, Orville of Bloomville and Dale of Tiffin; sisters, Mrs. Mary Kisaberth and Mrs. Fred (Nellie) Scaife of Tiffin, and Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Bollinger of Attica; and 14 grandchildren.
Mr. Wertz served with the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He was also a member of St. Paul's United Methodist church.
Time of funeral services to be conducted by he Rev. Leland Wiley in St. Paul's United Methodist church is pending the arrival of the sons in service. Interment will be in Fairmont cemetery. Turner-Engle funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Seneca County Cancer Society.
