Mrs. Mary Jane Barnett, an old and respected resident of East Shelby for many years passed away Saturday morning, age 72y 9m 7d. Her husband preceded her in death six years ago. Mrs. Barnett's maiden name was Osborne. She leaves to mourn her departure six children, John Barnett of Terre Haute, IN; Mrs. Jesse Barker of near Middlesworth; Mrs. Alfred Wallis of Shelbyville; William Barnett of Hammond, IL; Frank Barnett of Stewardson; and Mrs. Harry Hoese of Worthington, IN. These also survive her, one brother, Clark Osborne of Trowbridge, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral and burial services were held at Richland church Sunday afternoon with the pastor, Rev. R. P. Geyer officiating. The singing was by Mrs. Velma Jones, Miss Lydia Morris, and Mr. Geyer with Mrs. C. O. Soland as accompanist. Windsor Gazette – 1 Oct 1925
