Francis "Fritz" Dale Egner, 82, of Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 17 at West Florida Hospital, Pensacola.
He was born January 6, 1928 in Des Moines, son of Gale and Helen Egner. He married Peggy Black on June 10, 1956 in Waterloo.
He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1946, attended Valparaiso University, and served in the U.S. Armed Forces. He worked at Carnation, Teamsters Union, and metropolitan Life Insurance Company. The couple owned and operated Arthur-Egner Insurance Agency until retirement in 1989. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pensacola.
Survived by his wife; two daughters, Linda (Bob) Smith of Cedar Falls, and Diana (Stew) Luchte of Pensacola, Florida; one son, Mark (Martha) Egner of Pensacola, Florida; and six grandchildren.
Preceded in death by five brothers; two sisters; and one daughter, Beth Ann.
Memorial services Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pensacola, Florida, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo at a later date.
