Louis "Doc" W. Keiser, 83, of Brooklyn, IA, died Thursday afternoon, February 1, 2001, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell, IA.
Funeral services for Louis Keiser were held at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 5, 2001, at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn. Rev. David Rogula officiated. The organist was Angie Hawkins and the soloist was Bryan Carlson. Special selection was "Old Rugged Cross." Flower attendants were Mike and Lori Nelson. Honorary casket-bearers were Lyle Nesselroad, Sam McNaul, Clarence Rhinehart and Ross Wylie. Casket-bearers were Bryan Carlson, Brad Van Cleave, Brad Graham, Mark Hill, Chris Kinsey and Tracy Bailey. Interment followed in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established.
Nevenhoven Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
Louis W. Keiser, son of Harry Warren Keiser and Fannie Mae Cole Keiser, was born January 26, 1918, in Fremont, Ohio.
He graduated from the Fremont High School in 1936 and attended the University of Ohio at Columbus, Ohio.
On June 30th, 1944 he married Arlene Fowler at Chicago, Illinois. He served with the US Army during WW II. After serving in the army they lived in Moline, Illinois moving to Brooklyn to Des Moines returning to Brooklyn December 1951.
He worked as a sales representative for San Equip for 20 years. He was last employed by Woodford Mfg. of Des Moines retiring in 1983.
Mr. Keiser was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Francis Gallagher American Legion Post #294, both of Brooklyn and Brooklyn-Victor Country Club.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Surviving him are his wife, Arlene, of Brooklyn; one son and his wife, Mike and LaRay Keiser of Brooklyn; two daughters, Mary Van Cleave of Melbourne and Dr. Nancy Keiser of Bryant, Iowa; a brother: Haldon Keiser of Fremont, Ohio; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
