Enlist in Company C2 on 4 Aug 1863 at Pittsylvania Court House by Reynolds for 3 years; in Soldier's Home Hospital 1 April 1862 through Sept 1862; overage discharge 1 Oct 1862, age 40; sick Aug 1864; present Oct 1864 & Febr 1865; furlough Dec 1864; captured at Farmville 6 Apr 1865; took oath at Newport News 14 June 1865; resident of Pittsylvania County, 6'3'', fair complexion, blue eyes, fair hair, farmer; died Pittsylvania County 13 June 1898; married Frances Cooper 9 May 1867; son of Joab and Elizabeth.
