Services for longtime Nebraska City businessman and resident, Dale L. Barrett, 62, died February 29, 1988, at St. Mary's Hospital, will be Thursday at 2 P.M. at the Gude Mortuary Chapel in Nebraska City, Nebraska.
The Rev. Norman Morris will officiate, and burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery, Nebraska City, Nebraska.
Barrett was born January 1, 1926, in Silver City, Iowa, the son of Hiley and Ethel (Earith) Barrett. He married Wanda Abbott on October 13, 1946 in Hiawatha, Kansas.
Owner and operator of Dale Barrett Construction and Excavating and Barrett's Trailer Court, he was a member of the First Christian Church, American Legion Post 8, and the Nebraska City Board of Adjustment.
Barrett served in the U. S. Army in Germany in World War 11.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two daughter, Mrs. Richard (Sandra) Jensen of Salina, Kansas, and Mrs. Edward (Bonnie) Pfeiffer of Syracuse; two sons, Dale A. Barrett of Beatrice and Jerry Barrett of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and nine grandchildren.
Barrett is also survived by six brother, Norman, Bernard, and Hiley Barrett of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Delbert Barrett of Fremont, Nebraska, Donald Barrett of Salinas, California, and Eldon Barrett of Syracuse, Nebraska, and four sisters, Mrs. Paul (Thelma) Womach, Mrs. William (Virginia) Shallenberger, and Katherine Olney, all of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Betty Herold of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
