She was born on Oct. 6, 1932, in Shenandoah and was a daughter of the late James H. and Florence Cave Long.
Mrs. Barton lived her entire life in the Shenandoah community, attended Shenandoah High School and retired from Marvel Poultry in Dayton. She attended the Pentecostal church.
On Nov. 10, 1951, she married Thomas M. "Tuck" Barton, who died on Aug. 11, 1998.
She is survived by a son, Thomas Barton of Elkton; a sister, Gertrude Good of Shenandoah; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Shenandoah by the Rev. Hudson Nuckols.
