Sarah was the daughter of Levi C. Bell and Nancy Ann Busby. Her father died in the Civil War and her mother remarried to Tom Lawson, Sr. Sarah married Joseph Carroll Liles 11-21-1878 in Newton County, Ark. Together they had 12 children- Nancy Elizabeth (Liles) Cowles, Gertrude Marie "Gertie" (Liles) Hixson Cowles, Katherine A. "Katie" (Liles) Hill, Nora O. (Liles) Helt Tennison, John Burrell Liles, Ernest Liles, Doctor Sever "Dock" aka "D.C." Liles, James Thomas "Tom" Liles, George Washington Liles, Willie Liles and 2 children who died in childhood. She died after the 1920 census but before Joe in October of 1927. There can be no record found of her death date, including with the cemetery records. They have no burial markers. She is buried next to Joe in the S.E. section, block 250, lot 2.
