Mary E Bish, daughter of Thomas and Catherine Smith was born in Martin County, Indiana March the 18th, 1825, died at the home of her daughter, Elizabeth Ogden in Macy, Indiana. August 2nd 1906; aged 81 years, four months and fourteen days.
Shw was united in marriage to Henry Bish in 1843. To them were born twelve children. The husband and four children preceeded her to the spirit world.
She leaves to mourn her loss her children, T.J. Bish, Fulton, Elizabeth Ogden, Macy, W.H. Bish, Chili, Mrs. J.G. Smith, of Macy, Mrs. Morts, Fulton, Mrs. Frank Hall, Indianapolis, Chas. Bish, Denver, Mrs. Conner, Mexico; also four sisters and six brothers, John, James, Miller Smith and Mrs. Rarick who resides in Kansas and mrs. Katherine Trippeser, of Mo., Joshua Smith, Peru, Emma Ross, Roann and Mrs. Murden, Denver, she also leaves twenty grand children and 15 great grand children and other friends and relatives who will cherish her name in greatful rememberance.
She was converted at a campmeeting and united with the Methodist church at Chili in 1840 of which church she remained a faithful member until her death. Her last five years were of bodily and mental afflication. She passed away peaceful and has gone to her blessed reward in our Father's house above.
Her funeral was held from the Chili Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Schyler C. Norris, of Macy. Interment in the Chili cemetery.
