Funeral services for James A. Brennan were held Saturday morning, March 7, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Canton. Rev. Father Sturm officiated at the Requiem High Mass. Pallbearers were Mickie Brennan, Seldon Logsdon, Junior Uhlmeyer, Lowell Brennan, Burl Spurgeon, and Ed Fishback. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery with Rev. Joseph O'Rourke in charge. Mr. Brennan died Thursday evening in his home after a sudden illness. He was born in Clark County on April 13, 1880, the son of Thomas and Mary Wheeler Brennan. His early life was spent on his farm in Clark County. Later he moved to Canton and was employed by the State Highway Dept. until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Emma Murphy, October 8, 1902. To this union six children were born. After her death on November 29, 1926, he married Annie Dailey, April 12, 1928, who died in 1956. Others preceding him in death were a brother; two sisters; and five children, Sterling, aged 14 months, Lela, nine years, Verlin, eighteen years, then in 1950 Mrs. Carl Logsdon, Ervin in 1956 of Stronghurst, Ill., and his wife Rosetta in 1957. Survivors include a son, Thomas and family of Williamstown; one brother, Asa; a sister, Mrs. George Roach of Atlantic, Ia.; a son-in-law, Carl Logsdon; twelve grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Married to Emma Margaret Brennan. Children were Ervin, Mary Logsdon, Lela, Thomas, Verlin, and Sterling.
