Born in Decatur County on Dec. 17, 1906, he was the son of William and Caroline Gehring Bussberg. He was a member of the Greensburg American Legion, and was a World War II veteran. He received four bronze stars and fought at Normandy, among other places.
In April, 1956 he married the former Mary Harper, who died on Feb. 18, 1973.
He is survived by three step-children, as well as several nieces and nephews in the Decatur County area. Five sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at the Moster and Cox Mortuary in Rushville, Ind.
Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Burial will be at Clarksburg Cemetery.
