Henry Polonius Walker
May 10, 1835 - February 24, 1899

The son of Jacob and Mary Alvira Snodgrass Walker.
He served during the Civil War in the 1st Northeast Regiment Missouri Cavalry CSA, better known as Porterís Regiment, under Colonel Joseph C. Porter.
Uncle "Purlie" would say meekly when the Civil War was mentioned, "Well, when the South wuz whupped, ah wuz whupped." He was an amiable person with strong political convictions. He was also quite a debater.
He married Lizzie Wimpie and to this union three children were born.
He married Sarah J. Fee (his brother-in-law Daniel Fee's daughter) February 16, 1886 in Cherokee County, Kansas. Their children were Willie Walker, 1889-1889, unnamed baby and Frances Luella Walker, 1892-1975.

Uncle Walker Fee told that Uncle Purlie and Aunt Sara lost two babies about 1890, one of the babies was Willie born and died in 1889. They buried them on the south creek bank in the Southeast Quarter, Section 26, TWP 33, Range 22, Lola Township, Cherokee County, Kansas. where they were living. They installed a fence around the graves and planted lilies. Uncle Walker tried to find the graves years later, but there was no trace of them.
