Robert Don Kephart, 85 of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at his residence.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County and son of the late Allen and Artie Almond Kephart.
He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority with 36 years of service as an electrician. He was chairman of the deacons and had taught Sunday school for many years at
Little Brasstown Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Verna Lee Kephart; one son, Harold Kephart and his wife, Darlene of Anderson, S.C.; one daughter, Gail
Crawford of Murphy; two brothers, Ralph Kephart of Lexington, and Kenneth Kephart and wife, Betty of Murphy; four grandchildren, Zachary and Ashlei Kephart and Ami Achilles and husband, Les and Eric Conley and wife,
Fame; three great-grandchildren, Braiden Conley, Ella Conley and Tyler Achilles; extended family, John,
Joanne, Lindsey and Issac Cabe; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Revs. Aud Brown and Fred Lunsford officiated. Music was provided by Aud Brown and Kenneth Kephart.
Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Murphy.
Pallbearers were deacons of Little Brasstown Baptist Church.
