Gale Alvin Brasier, 84, of Miami died Saturday, April 19, 2008, in Vinita after an illness.
Mr. Brasier was born April 5, 1924, in Oklahoma City to William Pearson and Nellie (Brumbell) Brasier.
He was a miner in his younger years. He worked for several years for Forrest Lumber Company and was an ordained minister of the Baptist faith when he retired.
He married Ernestine Johnson on Feb. 26, 1944, in Commerce. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, Larry Gale Brasier of Bunnlevel, N.C., and Joseph Edward Brasier of Quapaw; two daughters, Jeannie Bycko of Oklahoma City and Lori Grossman of Miami; six sisters, Mona Belt, Myrna Carpenter and Merle Glover, all of Oklahoma City, Wilma Richards of Georgia, and Wanda Radtke and Alma Luder, both of Arizona; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Glenn Brasier.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Newman Cemetery, northeast of Quapaw.
James Fiddler will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
