Albershardt: ( b. Jan 13, 1907, d. Oct 15, 1999) "Funeral services for Emma Margaret Matha Albershardt, 92, were held on Wednesday, Oct 20, at the Danekas Funeral Home Chapel in Ritzville. Mrs Albershardt, who was 92, died Friday, Oct 15, 1999, at Odessa Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of Odessa, formerly of Cheney. She was the daughter of Friedrich and Anna Wuethrich Arlt, Sr. She was born Jan 13, 1907, at Weber, southwest of Odessa near Schrag. She graduated from Puyallup (WA) High School in 1925, then attended Cheney Normal School for two years, receiving her teaching certificate. She taught school for a few years at Weber before marrying Fred Albershardt in May 1931. They farmed near Ritzville from 1946 to 1955, when she moved to Cheney. She worked at EWC for several years. In 1998, after hip surgery, she moved to Odessa to live closer to her daughter, Dorothy Winter. She was a member of the Cheney Senior Citizens and the Cheney Grandmothers club. Surviving are her two sons, Donald F. Albershardt and his wife Sherrill, of Ridgefield, WA, and James L Albershardt and his wife Kay, of Yamhill, OR; three daughters, Dorothy D. Winter and her husband Arthur, of Odessa; Shirley Ann Dirks and her husband Jerry, of Moscow, ID, and Marian L Thompson and her husband Harry of Boise, ID; grandchildren David and Daniel Albershardt, Douglas Winter and Janet Woodburn and Lee Ann Berg and Bret Dirks, and 9 great grandchildren. The Rev Don Smith officiated at the funeral. Concluding services and vault interment followed at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery." (Odessa Record: undated)
