Eli Augusta Phelps, 87 of 2852 US HWY 64E, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Plumblee Nursing Center, Plymouth. He was born in Washington County to the late Eli Seaton Phelps and Wilma Meyers. He was employed with House Chevrolet and a long time farmer. He was a member of Zion's Chapel Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Walker Funeral Home-Horner Chapel by Brother, Mark Wilmoth and Brother, Arnold Pressey. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife: Carita J. Phelps; two sons: Eli J. Phleps and wife, Donna, Rocky, Mt., NC; George Phelps and wife Rebekah, Reston, VA; Five grandchildren: Eli Jackson "Rusty" Phelps, II, Plymouth; Timothy Huntington Phelps, Rocky Mt, NC; Dr. Merritt Elizabeth Roane and husband Greg, Rocky Mt., NC; Jacquelyn McCords, Reston, VA.; and Jacob McCord, Houston, TX. He was predeceased by one sister: Mary Phelps Davenport.
