Ronnie "Ron" R. Bennett, age 60, of Bovey, died Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids.
In 1949, Ron was born the son of Frederick and Laura (nee: Hodgson) Bennett in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He grew up in the Lawrence Lake area and attended Coleraine High School, graduating in 1967. Ron was drafted in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Ron will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and intense love for his family, friends, and the outdoors. He also enjoyed painting, grouse hunting and golf. Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survived by: Three daughters-Anna(Randy) Garmaker of Hibbing,MN, Tammy and Aleah Bennett, both of Bovey, MN; One son-Noah Bennett of Philadelphia, PA; Two sisters- JoAnn(Arnie)Johnson of Brainerd, MN Bunny(John)Sloan of Coleraine, MN; Two Brothers-Fred Bennett of Cottage Grove, MN and Robert(Cheryl)Bennett of Grand Rapids, MN; Four Grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00A.M.until the 11:00A.M. Funeral services on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Rev. George B. Gilbertson will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
