Ammie Lee Langhorne Armstrong, 80, died December 20, 2003. She was born in Henderson, Texas on November 7, 1923. Attended Henderson Senior High School where she was voted "Most Popular" and was head yell leader. She also attended Stephen F. Austin College in Nacogdoches, Texas where she was voted "Cutest Girl in school" and was a member of the Lumberjackettes and Pine Burrs. Lee married Homer D. Armstrong, Jr. also of Henderson, Texas. They moved to Dallas, Texas in the early 50s. Lee was a licensed real estate agent as well as a full time mother. She was a "Den Mother" for Boy Scouts & Blue Birds and was very active in all of her childrens activities. She was also "cookie & milk" mom as her childrens' friends gathered daily after school. She is survived by her three children, Mickey, Martha and Charlotte, and by her five grandchildren: Matt, Cody, Tiffany, Ted and Colter. She always had a smile and cheerful greeting for everyone. She will be missed not only by her children and grandchildren, but also by her many close friends. A memorial will be held at 1:00 PM at the Crawford Crim Bryan funeral home, 1414 S. Main St. (903) 657-2562 in Henderson, Texas on January 17, 2004. Visitors will be received immediately following the service at James & Carolyn Armstrongs home at 305 Slaydon in Henderson.
