ROCK SPRING, GA - Samuel Abner Chastain, 85, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2010.

He was born to the late William and Irene Chastain in Hiwassee, GA. Mr. Chastain was of the Baptist faith, a former truck driver with Top Flight Paper Co. and he also worked 17 years at South Main Car Wash in Lafayette, GA.

He was a veteran of the United States Army who loved trout fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Pauline Chastain.

Survivors include his four children and spouses, Wayne Chastain, Wanda and Steve Clark, Sandy Chastain Ellis, Linda and Henry Jordy, all of Rock Spring, GA; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tim Green officiating.

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2-9 p.m. today and prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
