As a young man he joined with the Marines. After leaving the service he became a truck driver.
His first marriage was to Mary (Campbell) Hopkins. They had Three children: Floyd, Joe, and Brenda.
After being widowed, he married Electa(______) Hopkins in Florida- 1975.
