Edgar Whitmarsh, resident of Douglas and Converse County for the past eight years, died at the Douglas hospital Monday evening at 8:30 o'clock at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 15 days. In good health up to a few weeks ago, Mr. Whitmarsh had been making his home with his children in Converse County.
He was born in Boone county, Ill., July 19, 1856. On February 24, 1881, he was united in marriage to Mary E. Morris, to which union eight children were born, all living. On February 12, 1915, he married Addie Davison, who survives him.
The surviving children are: William Whitmarsh of Omaha, Neb.; Ora of Council Grove, Kan.; Lewis of Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; Ollie of Hoisington, Kan.; Charles of Calahan, Colo.; Prince, Mrs. Earl Pounds and Mrs. Dean Septer, all of Douglas.
The body was shipped to Logan, Kan., Tuesday evening for funeral services and burial, accompanied by Prince Whitmarsh. Leaving Tuesday morning for Logan by auto were Mrs. Dean Depter and son, John Floyd, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pounds and daughters, Elizabeth and Helen and Mrs. Preston Lam and baby of Glenrock.
The deceased is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
