Daughter of Mary/Polly Smith & Nathaniel Haynes of Greenfield, Huron, Ohio. First wife of Levi Savage Sr. Mother of twelve children. Died on the plains of Iowa en route to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah Territory.
Polly was buried at Musket Creek, Pottawatomie, Iowa, a temporary encampment of the pioneer members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, known as "Mormon Pioneers". The spot is unidentified and was only known as Musket Creek Burying Ground, near Council Bluffs, Iowa.
