Maurice Poss age 87, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010, at the Lakeview Healthcare Center in West Salem, WI. He was born September 15, 1922, in Sparta, WI, to Jacob and Grace (Schmitz) Poss. On July 12, 1947, he was united in marriage to Anabel Silha, she preceded him in death.

Mori grew up on a farm in Bush Prairie, WI. He served in the United States Army in the 398th Bomb Group and the 860th Chemical Group. He spent his working years as a nursing assistant in the Veterans Memorial Hospital and retired in 1977.

Mori is survived by his children, Fred (Cheryl) Poss of Eau Claire, WI, Lucy (Rick) Meier of Madison, WI and John (Lori) Poss of Appleton, WI; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Grace; his wife, Anabel; and two brothers, George and Hubert Poss.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, June 11, 2010, 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomah. The Rev. Steven J. Kachel officiated. Burial followed in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Tomah. Family and friends were invited for visitation on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
