Bruce Kuykendall Rites Were Sunday In Pitcher Chapel
Bruce L. Kuykendall, 42, died at 1 a.m. Saturday at his home south of the city limits after being in poor health for more than a year. Services were at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Pitcher chapel with Br. M.A. Mansur and Bro. Hobart Lawson of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery under direction of Pitcher's funeral home.
Bruce Lyndon Kuykendall was born Feb. 23, 1908, near Forestburg, Texas. He was married to Miss Fannie Vaughan of Bowie, Texas, on June 2, 1928. Mr. and Mrs. Kuykendall came to Oklahoma in October, 1928 and have lived in and near Carnegie practically all of their married life. For the past two years he has been employed by the Truitt Butane company.
Survivors include the wife, Fannie; four sons, Ralph, Charles, Kenneth and Carrol; two daughter, Betty Jean and Barbara; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Kuykendall, Alvord, Texas; two brothers, O.E. Kuykendall, McAllen, Texas, and Sgt. Paul M. Kuykendall, Camp Lee, Va., and four sisters, Mrs. Claude Baclay, Forestburg; Mrs. Lillian Wilson, Bellview; Mrs. Beulah Hodges, Decatur, Texas. All except the two brothers attended the funeral.
Others from out of town here for the services were Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Vaughn and S.P. Vaughn, Liberty, Texas; Mrs. and Mrs. S.A. Vaughn Sulphur; Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Hise Sulphur; and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Barclay and Mrs. and Mrs. Albert Barclay of Alvord.
