Funeral Services For earl Kelly Held Saturday
Earl Kelly, 58, well-known Carnegie business man and farmer, died early Thursday in Mercy hospital following a few weeks illness and surgery.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist church with Rev. Larry Becker, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery with Pitcher Funeral Home in charge.
William Earl Kelly was born April 6, 1910, at Eakly, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Kelly. He had lived in the Carnegie community all his life, graduating from Carnegie high school in 1928. He attended Oklahoma City university two and one-half years. returning to Carnegie, he was married to Gwendolyn Tooman on January 7, 1932.
A retired Carnegie Ford dealer, he was a farmer and co-owner of the Kelly Gasoline Company. He served ten years on the Carnegie school board, was a member of the Carnegie Hospital boar of directors and an active member of the local Methodist church.
He is survived by the wife of the home at 226 East Third; the daughter, Nancy Kay Hurt and son-in-law, Paul Hurt; two grandchildren, Kelly Kaye and Paul Kenneth Hurt, Lawton; a sister Daisy Tidmore of Oklahoma City; a brother, Lewis Kelly, Carnegie, and other relatives.
